Updating/Reprogramming Tact-2.2 MINI Firmware
Use this screen to update the Tact-2.2 MINI firmware program (the program that resides inside your Tact-2.2 MINI processor flash memory - this is not the program loaded into your PC).
When to update the Tact-2.2 MINI firmware program?
Tact Audio will post software updates on www.tactlab.com on the Tact-2.2 MINI web page. Using the remote control, go to the Tact-2.2 MINI VER menu option and read the firmware version displayed on the second line. If this firmware version is older than the version posted on the Tact web site, you should update your Tact-2.2 MINI firmware program if required by the posted upgrade information.
How to update the Tact-2.2 MINI firmware program?
Before starting with the programming sequence, make sure that only one Tact-2.2 MINI is connected to your PC and that there is no other Tact-2.2 MINI connected to RS232 AUX connector.
- Using the back panel power switch, turn the Tact-2.2 MINI power off.
- Push and hold down the DIGITAL button and turn the power ON. This will place yoir Tact-2.2 MINI into programming mode.
- On your PC open the Tact-2.2 MINI program.
- Click on the COM to open the RS-232 Connection To Tact-2.2 MINI window. In the Options menu select Global device address and make sure that PC is communicating with the Tact-2.2 MINI. If the communication functions properly, exit this screen and proceed to the next step.
- Go to the Add-Ins menu and click on the Upgrade Tact-2.2 MINI menu option.
- Click on the Program button to upgrade the main program.
- Click on the Program RCS button to upgrade the auxiliary RCS program.
- After the programming is complete, exit this screen and turn the selected Tact-2.2 MINI off and back on again.
After reprogramming 2.2 MINI firmware make sure that you reprogram Microphone Calibration File!
Microphone Calibration File
Each Tact-2.2 MINI system is supplied with a factory calibrated measurement microphone. The microphone calibration file is saved on the Tact-2.2 MINI distribution CD. When you get your microphone calibration file, (Example: "Mic004256.mic"), on the distribution CD or via e-mail, it is recommended that you copy that file into the "...\Tact-2.2 MINI\Mic" directory for future reference. You can copy the file manually or you can use the Microphone option in the File menu.

After clicking on the Microphone option ,find the mic file (CD or other media), select it and click on the Open button. This will automatically copy the mic file into the "...\Tact-2.2 MINI\Mic" directory. Note that the Microphone option has no other function than to place the mic file into the proper directory.
To install the microphone calibration file into Tact-2.2 MINI internal memory, click on the Save Mic Calibration option in the File menu. This will open the Microphone Calibration window.

Click on the Open button and find the microphone calibration file on Tact-2.2 MINI distribution CD (or other media). Select the microphone calibration file and click on the Open button. The selected file name will appear in the Mic file name field. Click on the Save button to send and save the mic calibration data to Tact-2.2 MINI internal memory.
After the installation process is completed and after 2.2 MINI is restarted (place 2.2 MINI into STANDBY mode and then turn it ON), the microphone installation information will appear on Tact-2.2 MINI, front panel accessible, MSR menu option.
In order to complete the mic calibration file installation, the Tact-2.2 MINI has to be connected to a PC and the RS232 communication has to be functioning properly.
2.2 MINI will use microphone calibration file only if MIC CAL option in MSR menu is set to ON.
